Numbing Creams/Agents

Please consult with your artist about numbing creams before your appointment.

We are not against numbing agents, but please be aware of some of the effects.

Test a small area on your skin before using the numbing agent.

Things to consider:
Read the instructions on the numbing cream and ingredients..
Apply 1 hour to 40 minutes before your appointment. Wrap the area in plastic wrap.
This can effect the texture of the skin, making it “spongey”.
Can possible cause the skin to not stretch as well or cause hive -like bumps.
It can potentially cause effects to the healing process and quality as well.

Some common side effects can be but not limited to:
irritation, redness, skin discoloration, or mild burning, ringing of the ears, lightheadedness, blurry vision and nausea.

Do your research and talk to your artist.

Bactine and Numbing 40 can be used as well, but the needle needs to penetrate the skin before you can use these.

Keep in mind it is not guarnteed for the numbing cream to last the entire session, and we do not recommend applying numbing cream more than once.

Allergies/Sensitivities and Medical Concerns

Please let your Artist know immediately if you have any specific allergies, diabetes, or other medical conditions. Some may require special supplies, inks, waivers and notes from your medical doctor.

We do not use any latex products.
We do use bandages that contain adhesives that may be sensitive to skins.
(Ask your artist about alternative bandaging)

Some color inks may cause an allergic reaction, please be aware of this. Consult with your artist.

Getting tattooed with diabetes, your blood sugar is important to maintain. Eat before and possibly during your appointment due to your sugar dropping. So be prepared. Some medications may make you bleed a bit more. If your diabetes are severe or unchecked avoid lower extremities.

Please consult with your doctor, and possibly bring a waiver if deemed necessary.

Skin Conditions

Please make sure the area you are wanting tattooed is free of bruising, scabbing, rashes, sores, blisters, or warts, etc. Many skin conditions get worse when your immune system is compromised.

Should I get a tattoo while sick, pregnant, breast feeding?

No.
Please take care of yourself and get better from being sick. Talk with your artist about rescheduling.

Getting tattooed while pregnant or breastfeeding, you have to remember you are putting your body through a traumatic process, which is not necessarily good for your baby.

If pregnant we recommend to not get tattooed as it can potentially have negative effects and put stress on the baby.

Also when breastfeeding and getting tattooed, their is risk for infection and other potential risks, we recommend you wait until you are done breast feeding.

While breast feeding it is best to wait until the baby is 9-12 months, that way the baby is not reliant on just breast milk.
We still recommend to wait.

Best time of year getting tattooed

ALL YEAR!
There are things to consider, warmer months for areas of the body that need to be exposed after getting tattooed, such as feet. Some people get drier skin in the winter time, as well.

Cremation Ashes

It is best that cremation ashes are inert and all contaminants are removed before mixing with the ink.
Ashes are burned at a tempature of roughly between 1,400 and 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit.
Virtually eliminating chances of infection, though the exact sterility of cremated ashes have not been exactly studied.
Any contamination to the ashes if not handles in a sterile environment may introduce risks of infections.

When healing, the tattoo may become itchier than normal.

If you have any sensitivities, this may not be the best option for you.

Please do your research and consult with your artist before booking your appointment.

If you have any questions or conserns please reach out to the tattoo shop or your artist.
